Hi I have a CD Burner, SCSI scanner at home and the SCSI card, scanner and CD burner were all detected and configured correctly in 7.1. That at least answers 7.1 and one would hope thing have not been wrecked in 7.2. Another thing many people who are used to windows enjoy, is the ability to automaticaly log a user on into the GUI. The KDE interface has good super user support as well, so when you run certain applications it will prompt for the root password. I will look at the Suse site and see what they are using for the new gui. When you install RedHat if you go into Custom configuration you can select a numer of different window managers and each has its own themes and characteristics. I have a CD from the UK when I went on a vaction to Scotland and I has the Ximian Gnome interface, which is great. I don't know whether redhat will support Ximian, but it has a good RPM update utility called Red Carpet that does not require payment for updates. I have not found any information about 7.2 on RedHat's site but I did not look too hard and rarely read their news section. Guy PS Unless you can read English and not Dutch/German, RedHat may be the way to go. My past experiences with Suse were good, but many of the scripts and config files had Dutch/German text in them which made for difficult reading. _______________________________________________ Seawolf-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/seawolf-list
