Andre, Unless your router is dramatically different from the Speedstream box that I have I would say you can't do what your trying.
Most routed devices insist that if you are setting up NAT that an interface is either configured as NAT or No NAT. Basically you can use an interface with public or private addresses but not both. Off the top of my head I would suggest that the best approach would be to put the windows pc on the public address range and forget about natting in your network. All in all NAT is seriously overrated as a means of securing a network in any case and should never be used in place of a good firewall no matter what the majority of ISP's are currently saying. If you want any more details / help just give me a shout as routers are what I do:)) Richard Worwood Mobile: 07771 662880 Fax: 020 8301 2895 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Andre Cameron Sent: 12 May 2002 17:05 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: NETWORK HELP PLEASE!!!!! Hi, I just got a new ADSL line with a efficient speadstream 5800 router/hub. I have two RH servers and one windows machine. I also got with my package 4 static IP's. I have assigned one to the router and added a subnet as well for the standard 192.168.1.10 stuff for the windows pc. I have assigned the static IP's to the servers. How the heck to I get the router to accept incoming connections to the static IP and route it to the proper server? I tried using NAT and a logical port like adding 0:2 with the ip 64.252.54.171 and having everything to that IP forwarded to 64.252.54.170 but it did not work from the web and it seams like a big waste of expensive IP's:( Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!
