Hello:

My question is: "how can we tell sendmail/procmail not to send the 'hostname'part of a
full hostname? I mean, if my hostname is:
pc1.mydomain.com, I would want any message sent from this host (say from user: joe1)
to have the 'From' field as:[EMAIL PROTECTED], but not [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please give me an advice whether or not the following things that I've done are
correct. If there is another, better way, please let me know.

- First, I added the domain 'mydomain.com'to the file: /etc/mail/local=host-names
- Second, I added to /etc/sendmail.cf the line:
Djmydomain.com
- Third, I configured the DNS's MX record for the domain.
- Then, I restarted the DNS and Sendmail servers.

That works for me. But, i'm not sure if i'm on the right track. There might be better
solution.

Thanks
Vidol
