Hi, I wish to create certain user accounts that will ask for a new passwd every 4 weeks, than 1 week after that lock them out.
As the server they are on will be an email server, I would have to create a script to email users that their passwd needs changing and will expire in 1 week from this notice (thus they then ssh in and change their passwd). but looking thru man passwd & man useradd, I can see some form of referance to this but I can only see an option to input a date that the account will expire (and I'm under the impression that this will have to be set manually every time). As I wish to have the above done automatically , without me setting a new date every 4 weeks. Could anyone possably give me some advise on this please?
