Hi friends!

I have a little but very boring problem:

i' ve a server with a SCSI tape, but ican use it.

when i do somethig like:
# mt -f /dev/st0 status

the process hangs. :(

the modules for the scsi units are loaded.
[root@localhost scsi]# lsmod
Module Size Used by
autofs 11808 1 (autoclean)
pcnet32 12272 1 (autoclean)
st 26720 1
usb-ohci 17744 0 (unused)
usbcore 52416 1 [usb-ohci]
ips 41568 4
aic7xxx 136336 1
sd_mod 11744 4
scsi_mod 98624 4 [st ips aic7xxx sd_mod]

you can see that the module st is used. (my process is referencing it)

if i kill the process, it doesn't die:
# kill -9 15735
# ps -ef|grep mt
root 15735 1 0 19:29 ? 00:00:00 mt -t /dev/st0 status
root 16058 15740 0 20:55 pts/1 00:00:00 grep mt

And, my linux recognizes the scsi tape:

#more /proc/scsi/scsi
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
Vendor: ARCHIVE Model: Python 04106-XXX Rev: 743B
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
...
...
...

More information:
i've 2 servers and the behavor is the same in both two.
Some clue about the problem??
Thanks!!
