what version of apache and mod_bandwidth are you trying to install/upgrade?
Did you try upgrading both at the same time(rpm -Uvh apache* mod*) ?
Do you need/want mod_bandwidth?

No. The rpms are musch easier to work with, especially if you are
new to Linux, unix, or apache.

If you build from source, you will have problems with future updates.
