You're missing a space; try "tar xfBp -" instead.  Actually "tar xBp"
may be sufficient.  When I type tar --help I get "*This* `tar' defaults
to `-f- -b20'." at the end.

I believe single-letter options are called "Old"; long options (like
--file) are not.

I think sockets usually get recreated as needed so I think it doesn't
