    There seems to be a kernel bug that causes EIP errors.  For an
example of discussion of it, see
http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/linux/linux-kernel/2002-25/0085.html
    So one thing you could try is upgrading your kernel to the latest
version for 7.1 in the forlorn hope that somebody has fixed whatever
bug is causing the segmentation fault.
