Are you careful to use the "cardctl eject" command prior to physical
removal?

I get this on a variety of machines and kernels with no obvious 
ill-effects.  There was a thread about it in which Ingo Molner (who ought 
to know) said that it wasn't a problem.  That being said, I really don't 
know what this is.  IIRC it was also discussed on the valhalla or psyche 
list.

Hopefully this is caused by not doing a proper PCMCIA unload as suggested 
above. Let me know.
