This is precisely what I ended up doing, and I just arrived
back from doing it ;)

I configured a new 80 Gig disk on the system, and added 
the appropriate entry into /etc/fstab.

After doing a cp --recursive --preserve of the data
onto the new mount point, I then went into 
/etc/samba/smb.conf and just changed all of the path 
directives to point to the new disk. Viola.

I was just looking for a shortcut. You know, the 
longest distance between two points.
