If your AFS administrator did as I did, pre-creating sensitive
directories such as .ssh in users' home directories with "system:anyuser
none" permission, the sshd would not be able to read your
authorized_keys file, which would mean you wouldn't be able to log on
using RSA at all.

But are you saying you're able to log on, just not getting a token?

I checked just to be sure and if I change my .ssh to system:anyuser rl,
I can log on to my AFS account with RSA and token passing works. This is
on SSH 1.2.27 with Dug's patches.
