Hi, I just saw this on the SSH communications website:
**************** Windows NT4 SP5 or higher, 2000 You have two options when enabling public key authentication to the SSH Secure Shell Windows Server - GUI or config file. Note: Due to Windows' password requirements for logon, SSH Secure Shell for Windows Servers ALWAYS requires the use of password authentication in addition to public key authentication. Using the GUI Config Tool ************* So does this means there is no way to upload a file to a windows server in batch mode since you cannot use passsword authentication in batch mode? Do I then have no choice but to use ftp? rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Schuff - Informatics Core Director [EMAIL PROTECTED] General Clinical Research Center Voice (503) 494-5654 Oregon Health & Science University, Portland OR Fax (503) 494-0165 http://www.ohsu.edu/gcrc VisualBasic = class(TNone) --------------------------------------------------------------------- >>> "Robert Schuff" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thursday, October 18, 2001 9:12:35 AM >>> I did this but when I run my batch file scp2 still asks for a password. I'm using ssh for windows (from SSH Communications Security v2.4). My batch file contains only this line: scp2 -P 21 c:\test.txt [EMAIL PROTECTED]#21:e:\scptest.txt I have uploaded the key for "theuser" to my server. there is one line in the help file for sshclient that has me curious: "The Windows version of SCP2 does not read the ssh2_config file or any other configuration files. It receives all its parameters from the command line. " does that mean I'll have to specificy where scp2 will get the keys from? thanks rob --------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Schuff - Informatics Core Director [EMAIL PROTECTED] General Clinical Research Center Voice (503) 494-5654 Oregon Health & Science University, Portland OR Fax (503) 494-0165 http://www.ohsu.edu/gcrc VisualBasic = class(TNone) --------------------------------------------------------------------- >>> Markus Friedl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thursday, October 18, 2001 8:24:42 AM >>> see rsa or publickey authentication in ssh(1) and ssh-keygen(1) check also http://www.snailbook.com/faq/no-passphrase.auto.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
