The release I installed is OPENssh-2.9p2-sol2.6-sparc.  I installed the
package with no special options, just pkgadd -d and away I went. After that
I started the daemon.  I then su'ed over to userX and attempted to run the
ssh-keygen command, which is where I ran into problems.  I know it's a big
vague but I didn't take any special options when installing and let things
go default as I had on the other machines.  Sorta vague all the way
around...

You kinda have to provide a BIT more information.. Like release for
starters.. maybe a truss.  How you configured it.. etc
