Two questions on configuring OPENssh for AIX systems -
o) Does anyone know of a /dev/random driver for AIX?
o) The default ownership on the root (/) directory is bin.
The ssh code requires the home directory (/) to be owned
by either root or the user that started ssh. root does
not own it's home directory after AIX is installed, bin
does.
Is there a compile switch or something to allow bin to
be the owner of the root (/) directory?
I have compiled and installed ssh for Solaris and found that /dev/random
connects in 0.54 seconds, PRNGd connects in 0.9 seconds and builtin
entropy connects in 3+ seconds. I want to make the connect time
much quicker for AIX.
Thank You,
Jeff
