Cannot download ssh

I attend Florida State University and am not able to download SSH.  FSU gives a URL so students can download SSH from the site but when I try to download it, a prompt comes up asking me for authentication ( a user name and password).  I called the help desk at FSU and they said it was not working because I am running off of a cable connection.   I went to the SSH site and tried to download it but the .exe file that I downloaded would not install.  I kept getting an error that said that it was not a compatible file.  I am running Windows 2000 Pro and need this program desperatley.  What do I need to do.   Sincerly, Cris Poarch [EMAIL PROTECTED]
