I am trying to integrate windows 2000 ssh clients with openssh server on Solaris 7 and 8. Is there is a way to check for a valid incoming client host key before prompting for a password when the client is a win2k box? I use either secure-crt or F-secure ssh client for windows. I can't find if or where either of those apps would store a "host" key as opposed to a user key. I have been told that I could use tcp wrappers and hosts.allow|deny to restrict access on the host level, but that method seems less secure than a public-key type of host identification. If I am mistaken please let me know.
