Did u try adding the user created by you in wheel group?

(ie) /etc/group file

I have two users at my server.

user1 is my admin who can 'su' to root and user2 is the one who uses the webspace:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] # id user1
uid=1000(striker) gid=100(users) groups=100(users),10(wheel),16(cron)

[EMAIL PROTECTED] # id user2
uid=1001(eni) gid=100(users) groups=100(users)

Both have the same problem with ssh :(

LG,
eni
