I recently installed a new version of Kubuntu Feisty Faun called kinda
which can ssh into tillie (my Slack machine) using tillie's password with no trouble.

However, tillie cannot ssh into kinda because the root password is rejected.
I have set:  PermitRootLogin yes
and re-enabled ssh which in Slack is done with /etc/rc.d/rc.sshd restart

How can I set my normal kinda root password for use when a machine on the same subnet tries to ssh in?

Larry
Set the root password on kinda.

sudo su - root
<type user password>

Then as root type "passwd". Change the root password.
