Hi Muhamed

NAT - Network address translation allows your machine to access
another network masquerading behine the routable ip address that is
configure for NAT
PROXY - Your machine point to the proxy server as a gateway. ALL
request to other networks will be passed to the proxy/proxying server and
the proxy will make the request
             on behalf of your machine.

The two sound very similar. But there are differences. The proxying server
has various proxy gateways for various applications that it will be
proxying.

I hope this helps.

Jude

Subject: Proxy x NAT

    Hello.
Recently I send a question asking how NAT works. But now, I'm
confused.
What is the difference between NAT and Proxy?
If I set a Internet Connection Sharing in my LAN, this machine
sharing connection (gateway) is performing NAT or being a proxy?
In time, thanks to everyone that send me suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.
