Each application will probably have to be configured separately (I don't
know what these configurations would be) but they can probably be minimised
by using the state matching criteria module that comes with iptables,
provided the connection tracking module(s) are also compiled into the kernel.
This is loaded using '-m state' and the option '--state' follwed by a
comma separated list of states to match. These states can be NEW,
ESTABLISHED, RELATED and/or INVALID.
