Is it possible to exploit the modern modems. I have an external modem that, on
occasion, has trouble maintaining a connection. More specifically, the "ARQ" light
flashes almost constantly during one session, but remains lit for another. This light
indicates error checking.

At first, I thought it might be a "dirty line", but the timing was what really
prompted this email. The flashing started shortly before Nimda and has since almost
stopped now.

I also thought that the modem was the target of a DoS attack, but that doesn't really
make sense.

Any thought about this would be helpful.

Thanks
