Did think of one more thing also. Someone posted this link to either this list or one of the many others last week.
http://www.infosecuritymag.com/articles/october01/images/survey.pdf It may tell you a little more what companies think is "important". If you even just briefly scan surveys like this for instance, you see that PKI/digital certs, Password Security/SSO and wireless security look like winners for 2002. If you just want money and not enjoyment, pick the future "winners". Maybe one of them will take off. You also may not want to go into Biometrics as almost 50% have no plans to acquire them. I guess you could run your career this way. Sounds boring, but hey maybe money can buy you love. :) JayW >>> "Servedio, John" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/19/01 11:47AM >>> I will be graduating with a BS in computer science in July and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction(web site or organization) as to what kinds of things I could specialize in, training, trade organizations and other ways to get started in the computer security field. Also is it good to get security certification on top of the bachelors degree, and what are the best certificates to get for non-vendor specific areas.
