Hi,
A more manegerial approach:
Intrusion detection may interupt/aid business process if not
consistent with IT and Management business logic and infrastracture
planning.(if support/security teams are continiously hasseled and
thus hassle other employees...... where to draw the line? how to
build your specific IDS needs? Are there specific needs? can it be
sorted by OU, by Type by what?)
A more technical approach:
IDS- ids capabilities implementations in programming/networking- how
to plan and program a self detecting network service/utility."

Hope I helped

Subject: thesis help

Hi,

I am a graduate student in CS, interested in security issues. I need
to come
up with a *killer* thesis topic with which to sway my committee.
Specifically, I am interested in intrusion detection in a business
environment, but any interesting ideas would be welcome. I have
searched the
list archives for previous discussions of good thesis topics, but
only found
cryptanalysis topics discussed there (definitely not my thing.)

Thanks!

Jennifer
