Heyooo!!!

There are no .pwl files in Windows NT. They exist only under Win9X(not sure
about ME) Everything is kept in what's called a SAM. I forget what it
stands for. Suffice it to say it's like the password file in Unix or the
.pwl file in Windows 9X

If someone can get access to the SAM, it can be decrypted. That's what
tools like l0pht crack are designed to do. Frankly, Windows NT encryption
is very very weak. Even with the password hash it's very easy to decrypt a
password.

Check out the documentation at www.l0pht.com for more information on how to
do this.

This is why it's very important to protect your SAM.

Subject: PWL files

If someone is able to get pwl files from a windows NT 4.0 sp6 workstation
and taken them to another computer. Is it still possible to crack them?

Thanks
