Fellas,

I was speaking to one of my mates who is the FW administrator using an IBM
Secureway firewall as their only border line defence to the Internet... He
said that there is no need for any boarder router because this type of
firewall performs all the characteristics of a border/screening router...

True / False?

It was to my understanding that the border routers provide certain ingress
and engress filtering based on IP filters, ACLS etc whereby the FW's drop
or allow certain services based on certain network objects etc thus adding
an extra level of protection....

Anyone had any experience with this FW before?

Any help or feedback appreciated...

Nick
