This link doesn't seem to go anywhere but the correct procedure in a
nutshell would be:

(1) Physically reload the router. While loading, execute your terminal's
break sequence. This will break into ROMMON.
(2) Set the config-register to 0x2142 and boot from ROMMON. This
register value sets the sixth most significant bit in the register
telling the router not to load data from nvram.
(3) When you boot you will arrive in normal mode and be able to enter
exec mode by typing "en".
(4) Change the enable password by typing "enable secret <password>". The
enable secret is more secure than the enable password which it
supercedes.
(5) Execute the "config-register 0x2102" command to reset the
configuration register to load from nvram.
(6) Now execute "wr" command to write changes to nvram.
(7) Now when you reload you will use the new enable password.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Mark.
