the difference as I know it is how the site is configured....a hot
backup SITE is online and your systems are sharing the data..or the data
is being copied to the alternate site in real time. Your primary site
goes down..the hot backup site immediately kicks in.

A cold backup Site is one where the data is there..but the actuals
systems are not up. So when you site goes down you have to contact the
people there..or remotely power up the servers to take over. This is
alittle easier to configure than a hot version and alittle less
expensive.

That is the site version....for just backups...hot is when you are
backing up in real/time..normally to another drive array...and cold is
when you take a snapshot and back it up at a specified time.

Thank you very much?
