IF you have RH Linux, then RH has up2date, MS has hfnetchk (IIRC) for Windows NT/2K, http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com for the rest. I suggest monitoring bugtraq and using a few good scripts to do this for you (I suggest wget+sh).
