Hello,

I'm looking for a stable server to use, it should serve as dns, radius, mail, web
server. Shall I use RedHat 6.2 or the newer RedHat 7.2? Which one is safest to use?
My personal choice would be RH 6.2 because it installs 1000 packages less then RH 7.2
;) Although I delete all unneccary packages which I don't need in both releases. I
install every update which need to be upgraded and which is installed on the server.
But in fact the most important thing why I ask this question is because the kernel.
RH 6.2 works with 2.2.14, RH 7.2 with 2.4.9 .. 421 Error: timeout exceeded
Connection closed by foreign host.

a good idea to upgrade to the latest 2.4 kernel on the 6.2? Are there any known
problems upgrading from a 2.2 to 2.4 kernel? And if I'm allowed here to ask a
favour... does anyone has a good basic tight config file for the kernel? Thanx in
advance!
Regards, Lao
