1. You need not worry about the email servers, mapping drives , SQL servers.
2. You just have to get a tunnel endpoint. So your staff who work from homw
would be one end point and the other would be the VPN device that you
have.Once the home worker gets into your network via VPN he can access
anything inside.

Throw in a test topology and may be we could be more specific.

What firewall are you using?

I use SecureRemote from Checkpoint. It is very easy to deploy and does not
require specific client to fw VPN rules to be set up for each VPN. However,
it only runs on the Windows platform and you need to be using a Checkpoint
Firewall.

Subject: Comparison of VPN methods

I am being asked to setup a VPN arrangement for some of our staff to work
from home.
Our system is an NT domain behind a firewall and with a dmz.
I would like to know if there are any comparisons of products/technologies
to achieve such tasks as:
- connecting to exchange server
- connecting to SQL server
- mapping drives

I am a little confused as to the best way to deploy a solution- use PPTP out
of an NT server or use L2TP on W2K? and where to place the server- in the
dmz or within the LAN? If I employ NAT does that preclude me from one
method?
Any resources gratefully received.
