Get good grades from high school, then apply to companies that are offering apprenticeships. Send out resumes to all the nice companies around where you live, and really sell yourself. Accept the fact that on an apprenticeship you may be on low wages but hey, a jobs a job! What I did, When I left school, i actually started to work there, see if your high school will et you do the same.
Play about with your pc to get the applied knowledge.
