I prefer this one over DSL Reports:

Separate up/down controls and selectable d/l file sizes. They have several
other utilities too.

If I'm getting lower than normal results, I usually then test my connection
at multiple alternate sites to rule out server-side and/or routing issues.

One nice thing about DSL Reports though, is that you can log your results so
others can research ISP performance by zip code and ISP. I just convinced my
brother to upgrade to DSL after showing him the local performance potential
on DSL Reports.
