If you are going to use a software firewall, personally I feel you should invest in zonealarm or at least use some other third party solution like zonealarm or tiny. To me, A) anything by MS is subject to scrutiny and B) anything that distributed and or integrated with an OS is more likely to be a hot topic for hackers to try to break. The whole idea here is to add layers of security so anything that "integrates" isn't suggested. Then you get into the topic of software vs hardware firewalls, where software in one way or another can be considered "integraded" on that machine... ANYWAY, long story short, I would go with a 3rd party app. $.02 - -tim - -----Original Message----- From: raymond simon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2002 1:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Windows XP Firewall I have not seen any discussion of suitability of the XP "firewall" feature for home users. Any comments are welcome. It's not real configurable or robust, but sure is simple to impliment (which should be a warning, I guess ;) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
