All,

I should have been more clear when I said PGP didn't "work" with XP. Several people
have clarified this when they say that it will work as long as you don't implement the
VPN adapter and install the PGP virtual NIC, etc.

That is correct that it will work, or more accurately *parts* of it will work. The
whole package will not work (which is what I should have said). Additionally, and I
don't know if others had the same finding as I did, it would not work with the XP
scheduler for free space wipes (my main reason for using it). So for *me* it might as
well not work at all.....sorry for the confusion.

For those looking for a corporate alternative (read: user-friendly) you may want to
look at SafeGuard PrivateCrypto from Utimaco software (
http://217.110.200.201/eng/dl_pc_index.html ). We are investigating the product for
use in our division now.

Someone else mentioned the use of WinPT and GnuPG. I've used both and can second
his/her recommendation but not for the normal "user". Its even less straight-forward
than PGP's interface. However, for those of you that are familiar with command line
interfaces GnuPG can't be beat (perfect for batch files).

Just my two cents..........

Regards,

Bomm
