Just turning it off, and seeing who screams is a good way to find out what else breaks. But, of course you will obiously turn off things like the ability to check web based email, and other fun stuff like that. Didgital shopping carts are not the only things that run over https.
You should really have a security policy before you arbitrarily turn services off for users. You have to have something in writing, endorsed by the correct people, so you can back up you actions. Just my two cents, that's all. -James -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 5:44 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: HTTPS Question Hi All, I want to turn off HTTPS to prevent people on the network from shopping at various sites at work. Anyone know of any vulnerability in doing so? Will I kill something else that uses HTTPS that I haven't thought about? Alissa
