OpenNMS is a good piece of software, but aimed more at large networks. As the web page itself says "OpenNMS is a open source project dedicated to creation of an *enterprise* grade network management system" It aims to kind of compete with Caldera's Volution, IBMs Tivoli Network Mgmt Suite, Unicenter TNG etc. Again all this depends on what all you want to monitor, how much you are willing to spend, what is the size of the network and the platform on which you will install. Somehow I have a feeling you are not looking for such a large scale solution, are you?? Sumit Dhar Manager, Research and Product Development, SLMsoft.com
