In a couple of weeks I'll be redesigning my network and while thinking I was wondering of any secure and expandable designs for this. I'll be running NetBSD on most of the machines but I will also be allowing Windows machines to connect to the fileserver. I want to be able to allow quick and easy (secure) access between the servers for data transfer as in mounting them. I would also like to enable a user login system that uses a mysql db or the sort for the network. I was told to use NIS and NFS but those are neither secure no use mysql.
