Thanks a lot for so much info. But i m sorry i missed something. I have to do it programmatically. Tools are very good. but i have to include it in my code. So should i rely on my DNS zone files, arp caches or broadcast ping..or is there something better where i have less chances of error. Sorry and thanks a lot again. Yash
