I don't have specific experience with xupiter, but I've been impressed
with Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://security.kolla.de/

I had removed "Common Name Toolbar" with Adaware, which wound up killing
TCP/IP because the CNToolbar either modifies them or replaces the
winsock files - Adaware didn't repair them. I installed and ran the
Spybot S&D - it repaired everything. Once I regained Internet access on
that system, I updated Spybot S&D and ran it again - it found and killed
more spyware.

It also has a few proactive options that are also very effective, such
as adding thousands of known malware urls to the hosts file, pointing
each at the loopback address.

Just checked... Xupiter is on Spybot S&D's kill list.

Regards,
Glenn
