It's using Maven2 for build system. Unpack and run 'mvn package' will cause the NPE. Changing the version of xmlsec back to 1.3.0 will make the test to pass. Using version 1.4.Beta2 will cause the test to throw an NPE. You'll probably need to populate your own Maven2 local repository with some of the used dependencies.
