You could try ppriv -e -M smpatch ...

Assuming the global zone process contacts servers directly or via other 
processes it spawns (as opposed to asking an already running daemon) 
this should allow it to contact any unlabeled systems with the same DOI.

Another route is to define a web proxy as admin_low and then setup 
smpatch to use the proxy rather than going directly.
