Hi Joe, I've tried it with and without running idsconfig, since I was able to configure the LDAP server via the installation GUI. Same results, with the exception of when I ran idsconfig against the install of Directory Server 6, it complained that it was only for 5.2
1) Got that done from the docs 2) Didn't do that part, the LDAP server is listening on MLP 389, but I'll setup the proxy server and try again. 3) I'll try that when I reinstall 4) Since ldapaddent was complaining about the hosts container, I tried tnrhdb and tnrhtp with similar results (container does not exist). 5) Can the zones at the different levels be clients of the LDAP server in the global zone? I think 5) is where I've been running into trouble. I'll need to go do some research on how LDAP works over a large network that has some laptops that may not always have network access to the server. These laptops would need to replicate usernames, passwords, clearances, etc with the main server when they did connect to the network. Thanks for your help, and I'll let you know the results. --Fernando This message posted from opensolaris.org
