Another rules question.

The web interface is not reading my /etc/shorewall/rules file correctly. Even if I make a change in that file, when I go to the rules section it doesn't display properly. It shows me what it previously had, and doesn't show any of the changes. How can I get it so the interface shows me the actual rules from the rules file?

The web gui does not read the /etc/shorewall/rules file. That file is generated from the gui itself. That info is stored in the /var/lib/naat directory( from memory so I may have it wrong.)

I'm convinced that it's acting on it's own at the moment. It's reading rules from some place I have no idea. I checked /var/lib/naat and there are lots of configuration files, they look just like the text files you get when you backup from the web interface.

I tried to "clear" all the rules from the web gui, I hit apply and it returned me back to a the page as if it had applied correctly. Upon going back to rules, all the rules are still there. Any ideas?
