it works here for me (of course one needs to click on apply)

in order to verify this; login as root, fire shorewall clear and then
verify with iptables -L. Then go to the client web interface and choose
start or restart ... apply and then come back to the console and fire
iptables -L again ... you'll notice that shorewall has been restarted ...

simply wait ... it takes some time but it finally works ... at least here
for me ... on several mnfs. Same for the command line output ... it works
here but, as I said, it takes somes time (in order to do service status
for all the services).
