There still seems to be a problem. I've put a rule in the firewall to allow the ping through (I think you should put a line on the interface above or below where you set a Remote Test Host to remind people that a rule needs to be put on the firewall when you change the host), and I can ping fine from the command line, but the web interface still says that the Status is down.2. In the Internet Access section, there is an option to specify a Remote
Test Host to test the status of the Internet connection. My status is
showing "Down" even though i know it is up. I specified a Remote Test
host, that i can ping from the command line, but the status is still
showing down. Doing a "shorewall logwatch" tells me that the ping is
going to 212.43.244.27 instead of the host i am specifying. If it
possible that the specifying a Remote Test host is not working??
you also need to allow the ping from fw->wan ... it works fine here ... cat /etc/pingtest.conf to check out the right entry ...
/etc/pingtest.conf is showing the address that i set. I tried hitting the test button several times, and stopped and restarted the Internet Access and the status is still down. Weird. Is there anywhere else i can look to troubleshoot.
