Security Test Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Security Test Engineer - Systems Test Group
will be primarily responsible for the validation testing
of the full suite of client's security products.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for development, execution, and
maintenance of the full suite of verification tests for
clients products. Suites include functional, corner,
stress, performance, and regression.
Evaluate product requirements, write test plans and
perform tests on Embedded platforms, Management
Systems, Firewalls, etc..
Willingness to do whatever it takes to meet objectives.
Assume overall ownership of product quality.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years relevant experience in large-
scale product verification.
Ideal candidate will also have experience managing
and testing a wide range of firewalls such as Cisco
PIX and Checkpoint's VPN-1/FireWall-1.
Must have a minimum of 3 years test experience in
the networking industry.
Must have participated on a team directly responsible
for verification of a fault tolerant, carrier class
platform.
Must have experience writing test scenarios and test
procedures.
Able to size work efforts appropriately.
Must be familiar with standard lab equipment
(switches, routers, Smartbits, protocal analyzers,
etc.)
Must be familiar with various LAN, WAN, Security &
network management technologies as their
corresponding test automation methodologies.
Requires BSCS/EE or equivalent.
Objectives:
Programmers (and hackers) focused on cracking
security devices highly encouraged to apply. Bonus
points for affiliation in security community.
Extensive experience working with and testing
intrusion detection systems such as SNORT and
ISS's RealSecure or equivalent.
2+ years direct, hands-on experience testing security-
focused products such as firewalls, intrusion
detection systems and virus suppression.
Have expert-level knowledge of UNIX and Windows
security issues.
Have strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor
and communicate effectively with other team
members.
Have worked on various network management
systems such as Openview, Tivoli, etc. Familiarity
with SNMP V2 and V3.
