Job Description:
CipherTechs Inc is seeking a qualified information security professional for a
full-time position with great opportunity for professional growth within this
expanding organization. The position’s main focus will be to provide clients with
consulting services, which include the design, implementation and support of various
information security projects. Candidates with previous consulting experience and the
ability to work both independently and as a part of a group are preferred. Previous
experience with firewalls, IDS, VPN is necessary, as detailed below. This
opportunity will offer great learning experiences and professional development through
exposure to many diverse client environments and challenges. Additionally, training
and research will be provided and encouraged.
Requirements:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate, via discussion and references, his/her ability
to successfully design, implement and support network and application security
solutions in an enterprise environment. Furthermore, detailed understanding of
security principles in the following areas is required: network security,
authentication, encryption, event auditing, security policy and vulnerability testing.
Applicants must also have pre-sales experience and be able to assess project needs
and requirements. Close interaction with project management and sales staff will be
required.
The following knowledge and experience is also sought:
1. Minimum 2 year of information security consulting experience focusing on
deployment of firewalls, VPN, IDS and penetration testing.
2. Minimum 6 year experience in IT.
3. Thorough understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite.
4. Experience and understanding of network design and troubleshooting specificity
as it applies to interoperability of firewall systems with the network.
5. Understanding of operating system and application security configuration and
best practices in Windows and UNIX environment.
6. Understanding of available redundancy solutions for firewalls and networks.
7. Knowledge and experience with design, implementation and support of Check
Point product suite is required.
8. Knowledge of Netscreen, Nokia appliance, ISS, Axent Raptor, Cisco PIX,
WebSense, RSA ACE/Server, Dragon IDS, StoneSoft, eSafe and TrendMicro is preferred.
9. Knowledge of Solaris, Windows NT/2000 is required.
10. Familiarity with following protocols: SSH, IKE, IPSEC, SMTP, VRRP, Radius, DNS
and SSL.
11. Programming knowledge in C, Perl and Unix shell script a plus.
12. Knowledge of available Information Security resources, common security issues,
risks and means of alleviating them.
Location:
The candidate will work with company’s clients in the New York Metro area. Some
travel may be required.
