A Networking Security Specialist provides advanced technical support for
the networking security environment and performs analytical, technical
and administrative work in the installation and maintenance of new and
existing networking security environments, including administration of
Firewall, Intrusion Detection, and VPN systems. To fulfill this role, the
Networking Security Specialist will:
Work with company groups to solve business problems with available
technology
Peer review the work of other network analysts and staff
Provide technical input for current and proposed investments in network
facilities, telecommunications and/or services from the development of
communications software through financial implementation review
Assist with evaluations and maintain networking security products and
services on a global basis
Assist in supporting global policies, procedures and standards
Have an advanced technical knowledge of the software and hardware used
within the LAN/WAN/Telecommunications (e.g., routers, firewalls, patch
panels, modems, concentrators, front-end processors, multiplexors,
LAN/WAN communication protocols, network nodes, switches, various
transmission systems and associated network management software)
Have an advanced understanding of the company needs and business
applications and an ability to use this knowledge to enhance the
company�s technological environment
Apply a wide spectrum of professional/technical knowledge to correctly
address complex situations, taking into consideration the full range of
available facts.
Job Qualifications:
BA degree in Technology, Information Systems or related field is
preferred; equivalent combination of education and work experience is
acceptable
3-5 years� experience supporting a complex networking security environment
Strong background in Firewall, Intrusion Detection and VPN environments
Experience with Checkpoint and Nokia is a plus
Advanced project management skills
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with
colleagues at all levels.
