Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA Title: Network Engineer- Secure Systems Description: Network Appliance, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced security and network professional to manage and implement secure/hardened builds, systems and applications. As a member of the network services group this position will also be responsible for providing secondary firewall and network support. Required Skills and Experience: * *NIX Security (Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, DNS, sendmail, SSH, etc.) * Windows System and Infrastructure Security (NT, 2K, XP, Sever, Exchange, DNS, Active Directory, etc.) * Trusted Solaris a plus. * Application and network security architectures. * Firewalls (Checkpoint / Nokia, IP Filter, Netscreen, IPchains, etc.) * IDS (Recourse, SNORT, etc.) * Network and security troubleshooting. * Team Player * Inter-personal Communication * Project Oriented * Customer Focused (internal corporate customers) Skills and Experience that are a plus: * Protocol Analysis (tcpdump, Sniffer, Ethereal) * Project Management * Checkpoint Provider 1 * Nokia Horizon Management Solution Primary Responsibilities: * Management and rollout of customer-facing application(s) in regards to security . * Management of initial architecture and kickoff meetings. * Host security and hardening of existing and new systems (Unix, Microsoft). * Organizational Communication * Documentation * Ongoing architecture support and management. Secondary Responsibilities: * Day-to-day management of the corporate firewalls, IDS', and VPN systems. * Development of corporate policies, processes, and procedures. * Network engineering support.
