VPN/Firewall Security Startup in Silicon Valley needs: Senior Embedded Software Engineer Duties: You will be responsible for the design and development of embedded system software for next generation network security system solution. This responsibility includes: * Interface specification and porting of the OS on target hardware platform. * Design and development of drivers for MAC and switching chipsets. * Specification, design, and development of switching / bridging protocol stack and other value added software components. * Developing drivers, packet processing, socket server programming Requirements: * Development of a real-time embedded system with emphasis on software. * Knowledge of Software engineering methodology. * Expertise in C/C++ programming. Good knowledge of system level programming. Experience with system architecture desired. * 5+ years of experience in networking industry with emphasis on software development, 3+ year of experience in developing low-level device drivers on VxWorks, Psos, or Unix/Linux operating systems is a must. Development of device drivers for networking hardware is a plus. (MAC, switching chipsets etc.). * Various IETF and IEEE standards, including TCP/IP protocol stack, Diff-Serv, and IPSEC. * MSCS perferred, BSCS required.
